Your Business

Choosing or creating a small business or a home business is very much like looking for a job but it also has something in common with looking for a partner or lifelong spouse or significant "other". Even if your business is part time, it often will occupy your off time thoughts. Are you still working or is this your creativity at work? When you have your own small business, you are required to be creative. You are the only one who can make things happen. People who depend on other people for direction will find a home business a struggle. Independence can be learned and developed. Just because you've always had a who that told you what to do doesn't mean you can't learn to be your own boss. It's a learning process that can be quite liberating. As you make good decisions, success breeds success and you move on to bigger and better decisions and goals. It's a learning curve which is why the willingness to learn, adapt or change is critical. It's a necessary ingredient to any path to success. A quote which has stuck with me a long time by Dennis Waitley is " winners adapt, losers addict" . I don't like calling anybody a loser but there are many people on a losing path who could make a better life if they only took charge of their own life and stopped depending on something or someone to change their circumstances. Only you can do that. So get out from under your circumstances and your comfort zone because it ain't comfortable . You can have a different life and the home business opportunity may be just the vehicle you need to ride your wave to success.

Building your own home based small business is just a way to multiply your options or choices. It does this primarily through developing an additional stream of income that just comes in real handy as you age. Imagine for a moment that you are retired at 65 or 70, on a fixed income, and your transmission in your car goes. How are you going to pay for that?. You are 78 and your 15 year old car is on it's last legs, where do you get the money to get a new car on a fixed income? Even Toyota Camray's don't last forever. Wouldn't it be real nice to have an additional stream of income from your own business to take care of these expenses ?

These small business ideas are not in any particular order and they are not mutually exclusive. This means one program can help build another but you can make money from both. The key for me in deciding on a small business is the market potential. Can I make money doing this? What's true for me may not be true for you. In the past, I have not been very good at making these decisions because I was not mass market focused. I always seemed to specialize in niche markets which can be good but if the market is too small, it's hard to make real money. I have made that mistake many times especially in the health and wellness industry. But if you are a health and wellness practitioner with a client base, it could be perfect for you.

All these businesses below are already set up like a mini franchises but the could be called the "unfranchise" because they come without the high initial cost and built in financial obligations. In my 'unfranchises" you can simply plug in and with a solid effort, you may achieve success. Compared to setting up and running a conventional business or real franchise, there is nothing to owning and operating any of our home businesses. Therein lies the best and worst aspects of the business. When a person buys a conventional business or a franchise there are big bucks involved s it's off to work you go "hi ho hi ho,hi,ho, it's off to work I go I owe, I owe ". Too many people who sign up for one of our business look upon it as an alternative rather than an imperative. When the business becomes a real imperative, it gets done.

4. Send Out Cards. For some people this could be a real time saver and business promoter. Imagine being able to pick real greeting cards, write a note in them, sign them with your own signature, stamp them and mail them from your own home computer at a very competitive price? You can. What's more you can have your assistant handle it for you using your very own signature and handwriting fonts. That's a real practical time saver for you. You can even use your own photo for the front of the card and load your picture and business card on the inside panel. Great for any business person with lots of personal clients like real estate agents, insurance people, car salesmen, mortgage brokers, lawyers, dentists, chiropractors, optometrists, naturopaths , medical doctors and others. This is a brand new business for me and right now I can tell you that I am not sure it will work or even open for business in Canada or the USA. 4. Yes it is legal. No Bell won't be upset with you. Phone companies want us to do this.
