The Health and Wellness

The Health and Wellness Revolution:

"Wellness" as a word now describes a grassroots movement. It used to mean something like the absence of disease. It's an outgrowth of what is commonly called the "health care system" except there are major differences in thinking. The "wellness movement" deals with prevention and pro activity about one's health whereas the "health system" is actually about disease (not health) and it tends to be reactive. One generally chooses to be a health and wellness volunteer because you want to stay vibrantly healthy but one seldom chooses to be a health system consumer (poor health often forces you to participate).

As a movement, the "Wellness Industry" is growing as fast as Baby Boomers are aging. Everyone wants to look younger, live longer and look better. Enterprises you never even imagined of 10 years ago are now in the mall. Today, the health and wellness industry encompasses some of the following business activities:

Health Food stores,

Pharmacies and Supermarkets selling vitamins,

Direct Sales Nutritional companies,

Health Food restaurants,

Fitness Clubs/Athletic Equipment,

Fitness Clubs for women only,

Health Food stores for pets,

Weight Loss Clinics/Herb Shops,

Professional Personal Trainers,

Cosmetic Plastic Surgery Clinics and

Internet based health and wellness sites.

According to Paul Zane Pilzer, noted economist and author of books on the Wellness Revolution, this industry totaled over $200 billion in 2001 but by the year 2011, it will be a Trillion Dollar industry (5x growth in 10 years).

Why adopt a "Health and Wellness" mentality?

Your health is being bombarded on a daily basis by the pollution in the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food that we eat. Most of us already are aware of this, but what are we doing about it?

Diseases such as diabetes, chronic fatigue, asthma, cancer, heart disease, obesity are occurring at epidemic proportions and new infectious diseases like SARS, Asian Bird Flu, West Nile Virus, and C Difficile are all threatening us and at the same time our health care system is straining in attempting to cope.

What are we to do? What can we do? Knowing that our immune system is our paramount protection against all disease states, we suggest that is a good place to start. What can we do? Well we can help it along by supporting our immune system. We can become "prevention orientated". This is where "glutathione" and "Immunocal" enter the picture. An understanding of the role of both is going to revolutionize the conventional health system and the wellness industry.

Never heard of "glutathione"? Don't worry, most people haven't except medical researchers and progressive medical practitioners. If you go to Pub Med, you will find over 65,000 references so it's a hot topic In 5 to 10 years, it could be as well known as Vitamin C, Vitamin E or Cholesterol (unknown terms 40 years ago)and far more important to our health and wellness.

Why Become a Health and Wellness Entrepreneur?

Have your own home based health and wellness business

One of the fastest growing demographic segments of the consumer market consists of aging Baby Boomers. Whether they are turning 50 or 60 they are concerned about their health and aging. One of the secrets of business is to get in front of a trend, a trend that is growing massively is always good for business if you are in the right business.

In addition to their health needs, baby boomers have a few retirement issues that won't just disappear. One is the need for an income in retirement which doesn't mean working as a greeter in WalMart or sweeping the floors at MacDonalds. The other is a need to feel useful and needed. This can be also filled doing volunteer work which is ok if you don't need to earn a little extra money. One advantage of volunteer work is that you can get out and meet new people---some of whom might be interested in an extra income and staying well. So you can sort of do both at the same time. With a home based business to promote, you have a good reason to get out of bed in the morning. It helps kill those retirement day blues and keeps your mind buzzing about new things to talk about. Yes, I do believe a home business can be therapeutic --it gives you new hope for the future.

For those who are not retired, this is an excellent way to prepare to retire in style. Live  where you want with an income to match. You can learn to dream again and have new hope for the future.

Immunocal: Real Health Food

How would you like to put 25 years of clinical research on a health food at McGill University in Montreal to work for you? How about a totally natural health food that has been clinically tested in real hospitals and used by patients in these hospitals. Doubtful? How about a totally natural health food that's in the Physicians Desk Reference (PDR) Drug Edition in the USA? It's also in the CPS in Canada. It's all true and a great foundation on which to build a solid home based health and wellness business. If you couldn't care less about business, it' s a great foundation health food. Who ever said "let food be thy medicine" must have been thing about this health food. For more information on this health and wellness opportunity visit http://www.healthandwellness.bz

This research was centered around glutathione , the body's own "master anti oxidant". This maybe a new word for you but don't let this deter you. "Cholesterol" was a new word only 40 years ago. What if you could market a health food that is clinically proven to raise glutathione levels in your body? Well you can. And you don't have to be a medical scientist to share this product, called HMS 90 and Immunocal just like you don't have to be a mechanic to drive a car.

Besides Immunocal, my favourite health foods  are Xtra Sharp for a day long energy lift and Cherry Concentrate for a good nights sleep. I'm sure you have seen and read  a lot of hype about vitamins and health products on the internet and elsewhere. It seems every company states that they have the best this and that. How do you know? Do they have the real evidence about the efficacy of their products or just a zealous marketing department? Most rely on personal testimony which can be very convincing and powerful but not scientific. If you like the idea of science based clinical research, patents and lots of 3rd party credibility for it's health foods, you are at the right place.
